Acne is a difficult and annoying problem to deal with and no one has yet to come up with a definitive answer as to why it occurs. There are several theories and concepts as to why it might occur and this is what makes finding a quality acne treatment so tough. Reducing the level of stress from your life may have a positive effect on your acne. A lot of people think that stress may be related to making acne worse so finding ways to lower stress levels in your life may help to clear your acne faster.

Here are some approaches you can take advantage of to reduce stress:

Approach 1: Learn About Meditation or Yoga

Meditation could have several positive effects on your life including lowering stress as well as giving you a greater sense of well being. What is meditation? The simplest definition of it is perhaps that it is simply attaining a quiet state of mind. So the goal of most meditative practices is to narrow your thoughts as much as possible in order to achieve a silent state of mind.

Perhaps the least stressful state of mind is the quiet one that is attained during meditation. One simple meditation exercise is to focus on the breath. In order to do this exercise you need to simply put your mental focus on your breathing and place your attention on each breath as you breathe in and then out. If other external thoughts start entering your mind then gently return your mental focus on the breath. As you perform this exercise more often you will find that it is easier for you to get into that quiet state of mind and you will experience fewer distractions.

Meditation can come in a significant number of different forms and methods that can get rather complex however this simple breathing exercise we just covered can often be sufficient in relieving stress from your life and hopefully in reducing your acne too. Do this exercise for five minutes each day or whenever you feel a little stressed and need some relief.

Approach 2: Begin An Exercise Program

Taking part in consistent exercise like aerobics or strength training can have significant stress reduction effects on your life as well as helping to make you healthier and stronger. Do aerobic exercise three to five times a week for thirty to sixty minutes at a time. You can purchase many inexpensive pieces of aerobic equipment like a stair climber, elliptical machine or exercise bike, this way you can workout right in the comfort and convenience of your own house.

If the weather permits then you can also go for a walk for an hour or so and get similar benefits. A gym membership can also prove to be beneficial, take a friend with you if possible and make it fun so that you will stick with it long term. Also make sure to do some weight training once every week or two to keep your muscles strong.

Approach 3: Use Humor

Laughter can be a fantastic tool to help you get rid of stress from your life. Read more funny comics like the ones in the newspaper and watch more funny comedy shows. Laughter really can be the best medicine even when it comes to treating your acne so never lose your sense of humor.

Approach 4: Get A Pet

Taking care of an animal like a dog or a cat can also help you to reduce stress. Significant research has been done that indicate that people that get pets experience less stress than before they had the pet. Dogs are usually the number one option. Most people love dogs because dogs always seem to be happy to see you and this naturally makes you feel better and thus helps to reduce stress. Use some of these approaches to help you lower stress which in turn may help to reduce your acne too.
